- Yes, I know, it's a little early to be talking about Halloween music. Nonetheless, what are some of your favorite spooky tunes?
THIS IS HALLOWEEN by NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS
“This is Halloween" is a song by composer Danny Elfman from the 1993 film The Nightmare Before Christmas, performed by the residents of the fictional “Halloween Town”, the film’s main setting. The song is featured in both HalloWishes at the Magic Kingdom and at Disneyland’s Halloween Screams. In Calaway Park, it is featured in the haunted mansion. It is also used as the background music for the Halloween Town world in the video game Kingdom Hearts.
Happy Birthday, Bela.
BELA LUGOSI’S DEAD by BAUHAUS
In honor of Bela Lugosi’s Birthday, here’s “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” by Bauhaus.
Bauhaus were an English rock band formed in Northampton, England in 1978. The band was originally Bauhaus 1919 before they dropped the numerical portion within a year of formation. With their dark and gloomy sound and image, Bauhaus are generally considered the first Gothic rock group.
Bauhaus first broke up in 1983. Peter Murphy began a solo career while the other members continued as Tones on Tail and, later, Love and Rockets. Both enjoyed greater commercial success in the United States than Bauhaus had, but disappeared from the charts in their homeland.
The band reunited for a 1998 tour and on a more permanent basis in 2005. The group announced plans to disband again following the release of their final album, Go Away White, in 2008.
Vampires DO NOT “glitter” and shine.
It’s HALLOWEEN & I almost forgot to put up an ode to Unknown Hinson. I’m pretty sure The King would NOT approve if I forgot to post this.
I just found this picture of Ms. Sharon Reams and myself from October (3 months ago) at a Halloween party. Scary good time!
