I put this acoustic-instrumental piece together in about an hour. I named it “Little Acoustic Mess" because of the haste that I created it in.
I may go back and work on it, tighten it up and add lyrics for either the band or myself, but as of right now, it is as it stands.
Woo-Hoo! My wife just won me a shirt on Ebay. What’s that you say? So what? Big deal? Well, this happens to be a vintage snap-button shirt, complete with stitched-mandolins on it. Does your shirt have stitched mandolins?
Didn’t think so.

CD COVER DESIGN
Asking help for a CD cover design. The CD is for my band, The Muckrakes. The name of the CD is “Grandiphonia”.
Music style is a mixture of lo-fi Americana rock meeting a stack of leftovers in old margarine tubs, wobbling on the wire shelves of a ColdPoint fridge, tilting forward on the cigarette-burned kitchen linoleum of a 1978 single-wide, propped up on chocks cut from a telephone pole in the Goldrun Village RV park.
We like to stand tall and enjoy stomping strongly through weedy stagnant undergrowth with deftly articulated songs, lyrical stories wrought from heady memories, and music-craft from the backwaters of The Old Dominion.
Anyway, we can’t offer much. But we can offer credit art to the CD on both our website and cover inner sleeve as well as a slew of band merchandise and tickets to every show as well as link and promo from all of our networking sites.
We can be seen and heard:

C’mon artist…help a band in need and get noticed. Let’s see what ya’ll got.

FUN & GAMES by THE CONNELLS
The Connells are an American band from Raleigh, North Carolina. They play a guitar-oriented, melodic, power pop style of rock music with introspective lyrics that reflect the American South.
Guitarist Mike Connell formed the band in 1984 along with his brother David Connell on bass, Doug MacMillan on vocals, and future filmmaker John Schultz on drums. This initial four-person line-up was quickly supplemented by the addition of George Huntley on second guitar, keyboards, and vocals. Around the same time, former Johnny Quest drummer Peele Wimberley replaced Schultz, finalizing the “classic” line-up of the band.
RATTLE GATOR by THE RESISTABLES
Haze, the singer / guitarist of The Resistables, and I used to play in The Pimps / The Strap-Ons with each other and were room-mates for a few months.
Haze moved to Austin, TX and started The Resistables. He posted a few mp3’s and I really liked the sound. According to the band, The Resistables started in North Carolina and decided to play punk rock n’ roll in between nightrain enemas and petty crimes.
After leaving NC in a bid to escape hippies, they relocated to Texas due to its close proximity to the Mexican narco-corridor. The band spent time in Austin hanging out between “Hippy Hollow and 12th” which facilitated into naked crack binges and writing music; what you hear is the result.

DIRTY BOOTS by SONIC YOUTH
Sonic Youth is an American rock band from New York City, formed in 1981.
In their early career, Sonic Youth was associated with the “no wave art and music scene” in New York City. Part of the first wave of American noise rock groups, the band carried out their
interpretation of the hardcore punk ethos throughout the evolving American underground that focused more on the DIY ethic of the genre rather than its specific sound.
Sonic Youth served as a pivotal band in the rise of the alternative rock and indie rock movements.
PLEASE DO NOT GO by THE VIOLENT FEMMES
The Violent Femmes was founded by bassist Brian Ritchie and percussionist Victor DeLorenzo following the demise of the initial wave of American punk rock, and became a full-fledged band upon the arrival of lead vocalist and guitarist Gordon Gano. In its early days, the band frequently played coffee houses and street corners. They were discovered by James Honeyman-Scott (of The Pretenders) on August 23, 1981, when the band was busking on a street corner in front of the Oriental Theatre, the Milwaukee venue that The Pretenders would be playing later that night. Chrissie Hynde invited them to play a brief acoustic set after the opening act.
The band signed to the then-independent Los Angeles punk label Slash Records. They released their debut, Violent Femmes, which they had recorded in July 1982. The music was an innovative combination of American folk music and punk rock, which would much later come to be known as “folk punk”. The lyrics were the common themes of yearning for love, sex and affection. The group quickly gained a following that never veered into mainstream commercialism. A few songs that gained recognition include “Add It Up”, “Blister in the Sun”, “Gone Daddy Gone”, “Kiss Off”, and “Please Do Not Go”. The debut album went platinum 10 years after its release.
Led energetically by the throat of front man Todd Owens, The Bottle Babies is founded on rock ‘n’ roll tradition, built by energy and driven by the passion to perform. The unique blend of the band’s influences fills a gut and balls niche that’s indigenous and worthy of representing their garage-punk musical roots.
Formed in 1998, in Norfolk, VA., the band manages to capture an aggressive display of melody and unleash the power of their musicianship and unique style on stage as well as on wax.
**on a personal note, I played guitar on this track.
Since we’re plugging THE BOTTLE BABIES today, here’s a FREE mp3 off their first album—-appropriately entitled “WHISKEY TALKIN’”.
FEFU by THE DWARVES
The Dwarves is an American punk band formed in Chicago, Illinois, as The Suburban Nightmare, in the mid-1980s. They are currently based in San Francisco, California. Formed as a garage punk band, their career subsequently saw them move in a hardcore direction before settling into an eclectic punk rock sound. They have been described as “one of the last true bastions of punk rock ideology in the contemporary musical age”.
The band became notorious for self-mutilation, on-stage sex, and taking hard drugs, and their live shows would often only last around fifteen minutes, occasionally cut short due to injury caused by spectators. They are known for their simple, loud, yet nuanced punk repertoire, and controversial lyrics. Since the garage punk sound of their early days, they developed a more direct hardcore punk sound, often identified as “scum punk” due to the intentional perversity of the lyrics. Around the turn of millennium, the Dwarves developed more of a manic pop punk influence. Bits of hardcore, surf rock, pop, hip-hop, and rock & roll all factor into the band’s current punk rock sound.
Their shows have been notable for some aggressive fights on stage (with the audience and even a cop), and because HeWhoCannotBeNamed performs either in nothing but a jockstrap or totally nude, apart from his trademark wrestling mask.
